Description

A large piece of Elephant Bird (Aepyornis maximus) eggshell from Madagascar.  Aepyornis maximus was until recently considered to be the largest known bird to ever exist.  It was thought that the bird went extinct around 1000 years ago, however accounts exist which suggest it may have persisted on the Madagascar until just a few hundred years ago.  

Comes stored in a display case, as pictured.  No repairs.
