Description

A theropod dinosaur tooth from the Lourinhã Formation of Portugal.  This formation contains similar fauna to that found in the Morrison Formation (N. America) and the Tendaguru beds (Tanzania).  All are the same age and were closely situated in the Late Jurassic (dinosaurs may have migrated between the three, as shown in the last image).  The second to last image shows a strip of Portugese coastline where the Lourinhã Formation is found. 

There's not a lot published on the dinosaurs from this formation, so it's not possible to ID beyond theropod indet.  The tooth features no repairs and some wear to the tip and serrations. Comes labelled and stored in an acrylic case with padding.
